The photo at left shows the padded backpanel and sport shoulder harness shown with model's hand for scale. The Gregory Makalu Pro features an Auto-Cant shoulder harness, contoured Wilderness waistbelt, load lifter straps, a sternum strap, and a detachable floating lid. The Gregory Makalu Pro has two ice axe loops and fasteners, two daisy chains, a reinforced lash panel, removable bungie compression, four horizontal compression straps and two vertical compression straps (all with quick release buckles), and a water resistant zipper on the top pocket. Photo at left shows the Makalu Pro with a set of tent poles placed in the side mesh pocket and secured by the horizontal compression straps. The pack's compartments include a water resistant zippered lid pocket with two entry points, and main compartment with drawstring top closure and zippered side access door.
