The Kestrel 4000 is the next generation of weather monitoring. You can now measure EVERY major environmental condition, easily and accurately, right in the palm of your hand. The chart mode allows users to recall and graph measurements, along with the date and time of storage. Barometric Pressure, Altitude, Density Altitude, Temperature, Humidity, Wind Speed, Wind Chill, Dew Point, Wet Bulb, and Heat Index... all in one pocket sized instrument.

New Kestrel Night Vision Models

4000NV	3500NV	2500NV

The Kestrel Night Vision models offer the same features as the regular kestrels but with an olive drab case with a visible red backlight - which helps users to sustain natural night vision. The NV’s red backlight preserves the natural night vision of users such as military personnel and pilots. This unit’s red backlight is also much dimmer than a standard backlight, making it more difficult to detect with the naked eye in night operations. The Night Vision model is only available for the 2500, 3500 & 4000.

Measurments

The Kestrel 1000 - 4000 models do not measure wind direction, please see the Silva Polaris Compass if interested in measuring wind direction. The Kestrel Tactical sheath sold for the Kestrels fits the compass and a Kestrel Weather Meter.

Temperature Limitations:
Kestrel 1000, 2000, 3000, 2500, 3500 : Operation from -15^oC to 50^oC [5^oF to 122^oF].
Below -15^oC [5^oF] the display fluid will freeze. Above 50^oC, the display will turn black.
This is temporary and the display will function properly when unit is returned to normal temperature
Accurate readings may be taken by keeping the unit warmer than -15^oC [5^oF], or cooler than 50^oC [122^oF],
and exposing it for the minimum time necessary to take a reading (less than one minute).
